Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz said it best when she said, "There is no place like home". We made it home Sunday evening and it feels great. There is such peace and comfort in your own home.
When we left on January 22, we received a phone call at about 7:00 pm and the transplant coordinator said, "There is a jet on its way to Hawaii to retrieve the organ. You had better head to Salt Lake as soon as possible. Regardless of the time you arrive, check in at the check-in desk. We have a room waiting for you". We had been waiting for sixteen years for that phone call. We didn't want to spend a lot of time packing. We threw some things in our suitcases and headed out the door. That was six weeks ago. Our children kept bringing requests to Salt Lake when they would come on weekends. The homeward bound car was loaded with more than a couple of suitcases. The kids had cleaned and disinfected our entire house and had dinner waiting. Thank you. Your love and support will always, always be remembered. Both your mother and I am overwelhmed by your goodness.

I am so glad that you made it home. You guys are such a great family. You do have some pretty amazing kids I must say so myself. Love you guys so much.
ReplyDeleteThere truly is "no place like home", I believe that. We are so glad you didn't catch the cold Orrin had coming on when we visited with you in SLC. We worried about it alot after we left. We just had to see for with our very own eyes that you both were OK. We have visited with both of your parents since we saw you and expressed our joy in see you. We love you both so much and are just a phone call away if you need anything. Orrin & Judy
ReplyDeleteWe are so glad to see you at HOME! We went to Kurt's Grandma's funeral today and Jeremy was buried right next to her, I had a hard time holding my emotions. I don't think I will ever be able to express enough the gratitude I feel for the Rose family and their precious gift to us.
